Unalloyed custom of college libraries in Sub-Continent was authorized amid 18th centuries. Vivacious inception was initiated by few colleges in British Colonies by the help East India Company with a vision to control Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh for 20st century. By the influence of East India Company, educational activities and curriculum were validated at college level. Hitherto, unison of independent remained vegetated about educational growth and freedom movement in few and finite universities. Time and time again, colleges and libraries transformed into tractable progress. For the British Reign, Lahore city obtained the transcendent momentum. Marked by similarities for other hectic cities, college libraries were founded in colleges across Lahore, simultaneously. Over the passing of law, libraries reached such acmes in Lahore city of Pakistan to label it as city of colleges and libraries. In general, at the time of creation of Pakistan, the listing of college libraries was not in major proportion in the country. According to the statistics of 1948, there were merely 52 colleges. Among them, few colleges were blessed with libraries facilities. By services and material, merely two libraries were said to be libraries by true sense standards. From two of them, library of Islamic College Peshawar founded in 1913 remained utmost important and popular for Letter Printing. The Logbook of Islamic College Peshawar compromises of Fifty-Nine Thousand Books; while biggest college in early 19th century was Forman Christian College, Lahore. The college was founded in 1866. The present Record of Books of Forman Christina College is 54,000.

Country like Pakistan highly developed with a bed of roses, the tangible conditions of college libraries had been comparatively a cold comfort. Report by Ministry of Education, Pakistan; there were Three Hundred and Twenty-Five college libraries with 870,000 books, while, for each student there 3.4 books from the proportion of 259,402 books by boys and girls students. It was a above board proportion of libraries and their workers. College libraries with exact numbering augmented in 1984 by the quantity of Four Hundred and Twenty-one for following reasons.

Which was the maximum quantity for current libraries statistics according to the published data.

At a stone’s throw, there were Six Hundred and Two libraries was present in the country. In which, there are professional college libraries were also included. Among provinces, there were told to be Two Hundred and Sixty-Five college libraries Sarhad-FATA, Punjab, and Azad Jammu Kashmir. It evinces from such records, college libraries were supplying services in Balachistan, Sindh, and Rawalpindi-Islamabad to boys and girls students. In such statistics, where the numbering of college libraries were told to be Two Hundred and Sixty Five in Sarhad, Punjab, FATA, and Kashmir; on the other hand, numbering of college libraries in FATA was told zero. While for many times in FATA Agencies, many of one college libraries remained busy for services. Despite a dog in the langer’s policy, college libraries are the largest libraries.
